HEY DOLL

HEY DOLL

I was born in the wro54432837-c2d9-4080-aa05-03ad2e0fdccdng era. I was meant to young and single in the late 1940s when people used Key lime ice from Lucignani’s by the Cuban Club as the mixer for daiquiris. I’d flirt with men in
moustaches and crisp shirts their mothers ironed. All night we’d dance. Instead, I’m young and single in an era when men live in bar tee shirts. Tucker’s Provisions is my haven, where the owner, Natasha, looks like she belongs in the era I long for. I hang out and talk to her, flipping through dresses that are pleasantly modest, yet sexy. The music, the classic shoes and sunglasses, the vibe is all I’m nostalgic for.  Someday a man in a moustache and a crisp shirt will walk in and see me and say Hey Doll
